smoothie bowl

If you are following more than one blogger on any social media network you will know that one of the latest trends in right now are smoothie bowls. Smoothie bowls are smoothies with a thicker consistency due to the dairy product being the base.  I use either milk or yogurt.  I don't like how thick greek yogurt is by itself, but I know it's benefits are really good, so I throw that in the smoothie bowl so I don't taste it.

What does my smoothie bowl consist of ?

1-2 cups of strawberries

1 banana

small handful of blueberries (optional)

1/2 cup granola

3/4 of oats

small handful of kale

1 tbsp honey

1 cup of greek yogurt

I didn't add any seeds or extra "super food" ingredients for two reasons.  One, they are expensive, for example using chia seeds in just a few recipes will lead to costing some $$.  Two, if you have healthy and good ingredients already in your smoothie bowl, they aren't really necessary.

The smoothie bowl was my breakfast before my workout and my drink was ice water.  I decided about a month ago that I wasn't going to drink milk or orange juice as my drink in the morning.  Orange juice is NOT healthy, and it is completely filled with sugar.  Drinking/eating too much dairy in the morning will give you day a slow start, because there's already a lot of dairy in your smoothie bowl.

I hydrate with my sip x swell bottle, which I love and can't wait to post my review on it soon!!
Here are more patterns for the water bottle.

cobb salad recipe

Yesterday I started my new fitness and health regime, and so far it is going well. I had a nice green smoothie for breakfast, a strawberry banana smoothie for lunch, and I made a Hawaiian bbq wrap (I tweeted the link).  If you want to find the recipes, I pin them all on my pinterest.

This morning I fixed up a cobb salad for dinner, which will translate into being lunch for the next two weeks!  This photo is not what I made this morning, this was for a dinner party I threw a few weeks ago which including, if you can't see, some Moscow Mules!  Read up on the recipe below!

My favorite part about any salad is that there really is no way of messing up a recipe.  As, a picky eater I like to mix and match my vegetables and more.  With this cobb salad there are a lot of different meats and vegetables, but then I choose what I like, then add them to it. If you want to add a dressing, anything will work!

here are all of the ingredients

avacado
bacon
tomatoes
egg
corn
chicken
blue cheese or feta

1. add it to your romaine lettuce and enjoy

lemon water

I have been so excited lately, I have a new blog, I am writing my first post, and so much more!!  Instagram/snapchat: @lemondesigned
My first topic of the day is lemon water.  Everyday you should be drinking about 6-10 glasses of water each day. It seems like a lot, and many times I don't think that water tastes that great. I add a little twist, I go over to my refrigerator, cut up a lemon slice, put it in my water, and bam, I have an exciting new taste to water!  This detox drink actually helps you stay hydrated and even help you lose weight.

What tumbler do I use?
I use a Tervis Tumbler. I personally love them, more than any other cup/glass. They don't sweat, they can stay warm or cold, and they have a bunch of options for things to put on your cup. I love love love how you can get your monogram on your cup. (I have two of those!)

See you tomorrow!
