Lemon Designed: triple crown races

Today marks the first race of the Triple Crown races, it's the Kentucky Derby! Lots of people will be attending each of the three races, the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes. Many people have questions about the races, what to wear, and more, here's what to know.

+ clothing attire

As many of you all know, hats are normally worn, and are a staple, for both the ladies and gentlemen. Although the attire is slowly becoming more casual, the typical look that people think of, is the Lilly Pulitzer sun dress, the big hat, and Jack Rogers. For the gentlemen, you'll see sports jackets, oxfords, and loafers.

I highly suggest if you don't attend one of the races, make sure you place your bets on a winner and throw a party. Throw your own party, but not just any party. Plan some finger sandwiches, mint juleps, and proper attire, just for fun!

The Triple Crown races consist of three horse races, the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes. The horse that wins all three races is titled with the Triple Crown, which has been done 12 times, and once by the most famous, Secretariat.
