learning calligraphy

Wow, it is auctually hard to think that I could say this but I can write calligraphy! I have seen posts and pictures of it, and I never thought that it could be so simple.

For Christmas cards and gift tags I decided to try, just try to write my own calligraphy . I looked up "merry christmas in calligraphy" in Google images and this popped up!

After looking at it for a little while, I realized something so pretty looking didn't have to be so hard to do.    Here are the steps in how I taught myself:

1. Write out the words (in your font) in pencil.

2. Trace them, in your pen and ink, sharpie, or fine ink marker.  Also, erase your pencil marks.

3. With pencil, draw out where your lines thicken or change in size.

4. Erase all of your pencil marks and fill in your lines.

5. It's as simple as that!  I suggest looking at the alphabet in different fonts, and repetitively writing the letters down.

Thursday's ( tomorrow's) blog post is about fitness and health!

See you tomorrow!
