first fall outfit

I promised myself that I would not post anything about fall until I saw leaves fall from a tree, and I kept that promise.  The other day I was peacefully relaxing on a porch, when I looked and saw some leaves fall from the tree.

I am so excited for fall, especially because fall and winter are my favorite seasons. Fall for me means getting ready for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and an everyday outfit of a baggy/oversized sweater and leggings, and ladies pull out those Uggs!  I don't know about you, but I love that type of outfit for everyday,  but don't worry I have many different outfit posts that don't involve a just that, but as a warning, some posts do have that!

Adding Pops of Color

When I think of fall colors, I think pretty bland colors like all shades of browns and tans.  Every once in a while you will see a red leaf though, so I try to turn the colors of fall and the trees into my color palette.  With this outfit, I will say for the most part it is bland, but pops of red here and there make it come alive.

1. Kate Spade Purse

Kate Spade has been known for bright and bold colors and handbags.  The color from the purse in these photos make you look, and see, because of the  bold, loud, and bright color. Believe me, no one would think it is just another boring outfit.

2. Head Band

This is not shown in any photos, but just adding a thin bright red head band, makes you stand out just a little more than you did before.  I love a thin, eye-drawing head band, that is just enough to draw yourself a little attention, in a good way.

3. Nail Polish

Even the smallest details make you stand out, even some nail polish.  For the photo shoot I was debating whether I should put on some nail polish, but I ended up opting out.  I didn't put any on because I wanted you all to see the vision. With this outfit, I would have personally could have gone with four colors, nude, navy, bright red, or dark red.

What color nail polish would you have done?

See you Monday!

my desk

Most people use a desk, whether their job is a teacher, an accountant, a student, or just a stay at home mom. Something I learned as a blogger is you have to put yourself in an environment that inspires you, for me I put myself somewhere that I know that I can write about anything.  For me, I need a bright environment, with natural light and colors.  Todays post is about my personal desk, and some essentials I think that almost everyone needs for their desk.

I think that adding a little bit of earth is good for a desk.  It adds a little bit of that fresh and earthy feel, even if your plant is fake! This specific boxwood looks fake, but it is real, it has just been preserved.   Boxwoods and topiaries are my personal favorite plants other than hydrangeas and peonies. Add your own touch.  I added a black and white gingham ribbon.

I have so many little knicks and knacks that I need direct access to while I am at my desk.  This tray by Poppin, is one of my favorite desk accessories by Poppin.  Poppin is my favorite brand, it pretty much defines my desk, and it organizes my life.

Now, I got this last year when it released, and I still have it because Sugar Paper has not released their 2016 calendars and planners yet.  This link leads to last years whole collection, not the one products that I have displayed. The calendar that I got was the 2015 Bold Pink Desk Calendar.  When Sugar Paper released their 2015 collection I loved loved loved it, and I still do!

4. Bulletin Board

I always have post it notes and reminders and inspiration that I need to see to be reminded of. I needed something so I simply drove out to Micheals and bought a medium sized bulletin board and a very small about of white paint.  When I got home I painted the boarder white, just because I needed it to be a little brighter for my desk and I just had to add my own touch.

5. Add Details

When I enter a space of mine, I really want it to be mine.  I have to add details, just to personalize it, and to make it mine.  As far as my desk I have kinda have a little bit of a safari look going on, with other different objects.

See you tomorrow!

a little trip

I love going somewhere with a purpose.  The other day I went somewhere with a purpose, to shop and have a mini photo shoot for today's blog post.

As far as my outfit I dressed for comfort and style.  I wore a Ralph Lauren light denim dress, with plain, yet perfect for the water, Sperry shoes. Right down the street of these photos is the water and boat house.

Please note: The Ralph Lauren dress, has since changed since the time I have purchased it. They do not carry this style in womens anymore, which is unfortunate, they only have a similar style for small children.  The link is the dress that I found closest to this dress in women, but it is not denim, it is a bright pink or orange.  The Cole Haan crossbody purse is great, especially for traveling.  There are so many compartments, and zippers inside zippers, for your money and licence.  On the site they do no have this color available, it is only in stores. As far as the Sperry boat shoes, they are perfect and my exact ones are linked below.

kate spade

The summer days are sadly coming to an end and the white clothes are not in stores anymore. The stores are starting to have their sales on all of their summer clothes, and for me, it is like heaven. Over the weekend, I stopped  into a Kate Spade store, immediately took out my phone and took pictures, went home scratched off what I thought was going to be Monday's post, and replaced it with Kate Spade. Kate Spade has always been one of my favorite brands, they have such great inspiration from their style to their books.  When I walked in I was bombarded by bold prints and one more thing, percentage signs. And that only means one thing, sales! Kate Spade has sales right now up to 80% off!!! I was in heaven. Talking about Kate Spade, I want to answer a question that many people have and had. Why is Kate Spade so popular, how do they have over one million followers, what attracts people into their store?  Now many people have many answers, but I only have one. My answer to all three of those question is a one word answer, presentation*.  They make you look into store, because they draw your complete attention through their bold prints, clothes, and bags  They have prints that look great, and they are picture perfect, and on their social accounts they show it.

*Speaking of presentation, I am happy to announce that the blog is getting a facelift! We will be having our site revamped, and a new logo will be in store! I have been planning this for a while, so I am glad it can finally happen.  Also starting the week of September 7, our blogging schedule will change, and we will be blogging four days of of seven, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday!!

P.S. Today is Lilly Pulitzer's annual summer sale, #summerinlilly

See you Wednesday!

this is exercise?

I am sure right now you are asking, yourself, what is the title talking about. The title is talking about my two favorite water activities. The last activity does not apply to the question.

1. Paddle boarding

Paddle boarding is great, great for the mind, and great for the body. I can do it either standing up or kneeling. Either way it is an amazing and relaxing workout for the arms. If you stand up, your legs also get a work out. I have also really wanted to try Paddle boarding Yoga.

2. Kayaking

Kayaking is just like paddle boarding, but there are some difference. Balance is not as key, tipping over is a little less likely. Arms are what will get you moving, along with the current. I would do kayaking before paddle boarding just to be ready.

3ish. Swimming

I write three-ish because swimming is a workout, not if you do this in a relaxed way. By relaxed way I mean that if you swim a good slow pace.

More pics…

P.S. Monday will talk all about Kate Spade fashion and store.

See you Monday!

style and hydrangeas

Over the whole summer, I have spent my money on anything I absolutely love, as far as fashion and style. Do you know what the problem is? I love almost anything!  I was in a shopping center looking for a cute, money saving dress, when I came across Old Navy. I looked in the window, and the most simple, but sweet dress was on a mannequin  I went into the store, tried it on and bam! I had my dress.

I went to a low key party, and I wore the dress with my absolutely favorite shoes, my Jack Rogers. Of course I painted my toes pink, got a camera, and a photographer, and got some hydrangeas, and did a photo shoot.  The first picture here is one of my favorites because of the prospective it gives. The photo above focuses on the hydrangeas, while showing a little bit of my style.

See you Friday!

nike running shoes

Over the years I have been an Under Armour fan, I never really wore Nike.  I still wear and love Under Armour, but all of my athletic shoes are now Nike. I have worn Nike shoes from time to time, but I finally made the bold decision to change. So far, I love my Nike Free Run 5.0 shoe. As far as color, I accidentally picked out a box and bam! There was a Aqua color, which is my favorite color, and it was perfect!

Their "motto" for the shoe is barefoot, which is very ironic because it feels like you are barefoot with some comfort.

Overall they are the best shoes that I have ever had. They have comfort, style, and the perfect color!

Friday Workout Tip

When working on your abdominals, you need to do 30 minute cardio, in order to burn fat, and then 30 minutes abs to shape your core.

See you Monday!

travel

Do you have a place that you have wanted to go?  It's your chance now, just go. If you wanted to go and stay there, get a one way ticket. It's your time.

Now London, Hawaii, and Ireland have always been on my personal wanderlust. There have been so many fellow bloggers and family members have been traveling lately, and have a feeling it is my turn soon, so I have get a plane ticket!

I do have experience traveling and here is my advice.

1. Travel Light.

I know many people with lots of clothes and shoes and accessories, something they don't need to take them on their trip, but they do. I know because I am one of those people! Well, I was I now try to pack on shirt, skirt, dress, and pair of pants per day, and then I bring one extra pair of clothes just in case! Then I choose a pair of comfortable clothes and something to wear while sleeping. And of course I bring a lot of shoes for photos, but if not I bring about four pairs of shoes.  As far as make up, toothbrush, hair supplies, and the rest of your beauty supplies. I choose a cosmetic bag, here are just a few of my favorites.

     Lilly Pulitzer Bamboo Case- $58

Tory Burch Kerrington Mini Triangle-$95

Kate Spade Cedar Street Flamingos-$88

lemon water

I have been so excited lately, I have a new blog, I am writing my first post, and so much more!!  Instagram/snapchat: @lemondesigned
My first topic of the day is lemon water.  Everyday you should be drinking about 6-10 glasses of water each day. It seems like a lot, and many times I don't think that water tastes that great. I add a little twist, I go over to my refrigerator, cut up a lemon slice, put it in my water, and bam, I have an exciting new taste to water!  This detox drink actually helps you stay hydrated and even help you lose weight.

What tumbler do I use?
I use a Tervis Tumbler. I personally love them, more than any other cup/glass. They don't sweat, they can stay warm or cold, and they have a bunch of options for things to put on your cup. I love love love how you can get your monogram on your cup. (I have two of those!)
