fall collection no. 1

Sometimes I get really stuck when I am thinking of something to write about.  A lot of what I like to share on Lemon Designed is style, whether it be collections, my outfits, and others that I like.  I am going to start writing "collections."  These collections will be an outfit or two I made up and think would go well together, so you can shop the look and see my insight.


This outfit is a perfect on for that not too chilly fall day, it's been sooo warm here recently it's kind of crazy.  I am always looking for a go to tank and shorts with shoes, a really comfy sweater, and a small statement piece.  The size of the necklace really balances out the combo.  It's really easy to turn it into a dressier outfit, that's secretly comfy and casual.  Shop the look below.

(my favorite) healthy parfait

With living a more healthy and happy lifestyle, one of the hardest thing to change was my diet.  Simply putting together a healthy breakfast is a pain.  There is never enough time, your stressing while running out the door late for work or classes.  Something over time I found out a quick and easy breakfast to eat, rather than that bagel or just that cup of coffee. It's yogurt. 


Yogurt alone is a great source of calcium.  Yogurt is definitely a dairy product giving you a source of protein, and so many other benefits, including helping your immune system. Greek yogurt is yet another great source of potassium, and it has more than regular yogurt.  I was not one to jump right onto the Greek yogurt fad a while back, because I don't like to eat food of that texture/thickness.  I found Dannon or Yoplait Greek yogurt and it's just my style.  It's not too thick to eat, and nkt too consistent to be regular yogurt.


 Prepping beforehand is a must because if I don't, there's just not enough time for me in the morning. (I'm just not an early bird!) For this easy and definitely magical meal I add two things: cinnamon and blueberries.  The cinnamon adds to the flavor of the yogurt.  Not only does it taste great, but it's one of the healthiest spices, lowering blood pressure and reducing the chances of many heart diseases.  (A healthy heart is a happy heart!)  With the cinnamon I add blueberries, yet another food item with great health benefits. Like cinnamon, it prevents heart diseases and other health issues, they are full of protein, and it's a great energy boost in the morning.


Every once and a while when the parfait is not enough to last me through the morning I will eat a banana for a little extra strength.

october

Now that I'm thinking it's really October 3rd, it's fall.  I know that fall started a little while ago, but I think that it's summer, that weird time you don't know what to where, and then fall.  Ahhh! I still can't believe it's October, it just keeps hitting me while I'm writing this. (while listening to Bob Marley!!)  I have a few things I am looking forward to...


College football..yeah I know it started, but late October and November is when I really get into watching good games, not to mention the food!  The chips and dip, wings, pizza, it's what make Saturday night a real Saturday night.  I don't like watching the NFL because I think it's too commercialized and not exciting enough to watch 3+ hours on my Sunday.

I've already said this in a post a week or two ago, but I really just love fall clothes. Here is my post on my fall style guide.  I realized why I like fall clothes so much.  Anything goes!  Seriously.  I could wear my pajamas out with some uggs and it wouldn't be that crazy.  Big sweaters and sweatshirts with world's comfiest leggings and boots are my go to outfit.  When I go out I just get a tiny bit dressier, that's it.


I am going to write a post on this later this week so keep your eyes peeled, but I am starting to relax more.  I just take time to stop, relax, listen to a nice song and think.  Some people refer to this as "meditation," I guess you could call it that, but I really think it's helping me.

My fall bucket list...also coming to the blog this week is something I'm really looking forward to.  Honestly, I like lists so much that I just like the satisfaction of checking it off!  If you have any suggestions or addition to mu list please let me know through twitter or comment below.
